As Owner of LEAP Landscape Architect and Environmental Planner, as well as throughout her brilliant professional career, Dr. Theron has routinely demonstrated the passion, vision and perseverance necessary to be successful in the business world.
Established in 2010, LEAP Landscape Architect and Environmental Planner is a company which provides a wide variety of Landscape, Environmental and Architectural Planning services. Among the services they offer are project management and quality assurance; urban and landscape design; public participation and impact assessment; tourism planning with community benefits; strategic planning and feasibility analysis; cultural landscape assessments and specialist research; and visual impact assessment. Their sustainable utilization of resources has catapulted them into the South African development realm with vigor.
Dr. Theron has a substantial amount of experience in project management in a broad spectrum of public and private projects, ranging from large-scale regional strategic plans to small landscape design and detail implementation. She is experienced in all areas of landscape architecture. Dr. Theron's training and extensive practice of the principles of "design with nature" as per Ian McHarg, provides her organization with unique and comprehensive knowledge of the field to be applied to any scale project.
Dr. Theron's success stems from her extraordinary work ethic as well as her keen sense of her client's needs and requirements. Prior to starting LEAP, Dr. Theron was the dynamic and enthusiastic Divisional Leader at Golder Associates for the Land Development Unit and before that the Director for Land Development at African EPA and co-owner at @Land Landscape Architects from 1996 until their merger with AEPA.
During her collegiate career, Dr. Theron earned a PhD in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning from the University of Pretoria. She also served as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Pretoria. Dr. Theron is a member of the International Federation of Landscape Architects and the International Association for Impact Assessment.
